CEMAC is an acronym for
Crisis &
Emergency
Management
Centre.
CMEAC is also a group name for two similar organisations:
- CEMAC Public Services vzw, which is a Belgian federal
not-for-profit organi- sation offering services to government
agencies and authorities, emergency services and the general
public; and,
- CEMAC bvba, which is a commercial structure offering services
to business and industry.
CEMAC has but one field of activities: Crisis and Emergency
Management.
This domain is however one of the most broad categories of
management, including applied sciences (chemistry and physics
in HAZMAT accident management), operations research, cognitive
sciences, legislation, information and communications
technology, audit techniques, etcetera.
Mission Statement
The Crisis & Emergency Management Centre (CEMAC) aims to be a
leading European research and services centre in the field of
crisis and emergency management by gathering and distributing
state-of-the-art knowledge related to crisis and emergency mangement.
CEMAC provides pro-active services (development of
plans and procedures, training, etcetera) as well as
re-active operational support to its members, clients and the general public.
