Resolving an emergency situation is vital. Communicating about what is happening and what is being done, with the press & the media and with specific stakeholder groups might also be critical. CEMAC can support an organisation by supplying communications experts, psychologists, media analysts, media trainers, etcetera.
Many organisations now have in-house expertise and staff to do the traditional commerce oriented communication with customers, suppliers, authorities and other stakeholders. Crisis communications however is something totally different. Uncertainty and the risk of making errors are much bigger, whilst at the same time the stakes are much higher. In addition there might be a number of target groups that are not taken into account when developing a 'peace time' communication strategy: victims and their families, families of employees, international media, authorities, investigation agencies, etcetera. Finally, time pressure and the scope of the media exposure will most likely create a much bigger demand for communication than what can be generate by the internal communication staff of an organisation. CEMAC can supplement the in-house communication by providing various types of support, ranging from logistical means and support staff, to copywriters and communication consultants.
